Woo Hoo! First Earthquake!

Minutes ago Cole and family felt their first earthquake!  Very cool.  Cole was eating/sleeping and wasn't even phased.

Bath Time and a Nap

It's Friday and someone's getting ready to hit the town.  Ok, he just needed a bath and a nap after a long day.  As you can see the bath and swaddling aren't his favorite times....but it is all worth it once he can nap.

Some new photos.

Couple of photos from the past few days.  He is getting very good at getting dressed and going in his car seat.  He enjoys the motion of the car rides.

Things are going well.

Day 6 of life and things are going well.  Gave mom and dad a little bit of a scare with his jaundice numbers. They were getting higher so he was put on light treatment at home.  (Do people remember those toys called Glow Worms?  When he was swaddled and had the light pads on he looked just like that toy.)  Thankfully that and a little sun bathing did the trick and he is over that hurdle.  So far over that hurdle that he thought last night was party night and didn't go to sleep until 6:30 AM.  Up until this point he has been a good sleeper.  Had his first pediatrician check in as well and all was good.  She was very pleased with his progress and can't get over how strong he is for such a little guy.

More pictures to come soon.

He is a true Californian!

Due to his slight case of Jaundice he needs exposure to the sun, so like a true Californian he has already started sun bathing.  He loves this little bouncy chair and we love the chair as well.  It always calms him down when he is fussy.

Beautiful Flowers

Flowers that our friends sent.  Aren't they great!  We received many compliments from the staff on the flowers.

View from the delivery room.

Ok.  There is something to be said about delivery at Hoag.  Nice views.  Kind of hard to really enjoy the view when you are trying to deliver a baby.  (Or if you are tending to your wife.)  Unfortunately it wasn't the sunniest of days, but we still were able to get a good look at the ocean.

Mary Humoring John...

This was taken at 6:15 AM when we arrived at the hospital.  Mary was humoring me.  I had to take the photo quickly as she was progressing rapidly.

Some more photos.

Thought I would include a handful of photos from the past few days.

Baby Burrito.

He really likes being bundled up tightly.  Here he is in the Moses basket downstairs.

This is the co-sleeper bed where he will be sleeping for the first few months.  Look how tiny he is compared to the bed!

I am home!

After about 48 hours in the hospital we were able to bring Coleman home on Sunday afternoon.  The car ride home went smoothly even though both mom and dad were a little freaked out.  Fitting that little body into the car seat the first time is a little daunting.

And yes, for those of you that are looking, those are the instructions on how to fit a baby into a car sit sitting on the ground next to the car seat.
