Cole the Houdini - Fast as a Flash

Cole has figured out how to open the door in our bathroom and is fascinated by all doors now. He can touch the one in his room from his crib. He was swinging it open and closed tonight.

This is just a quick glimpse of what our days are like now. Chasing little speedy around and trying to keep him from getting into everything.

Tigger and me

Cole LOVES Tigger. One of his favorite toys is a stuffed Tigger which he loves to play with and give kisses.

The other thing that Cole loves is the remote control. He literally shutters with excitement every time he gets his hands on the remote. Here he is with his favorite remote trying to break into Daddy's office.

Fun with My Cousins

Jim, Julie, Nic, Devin, and Ian had a great visit. They are now onto Sequoia National Park. Cole had a lot of fun with them and now finds his Mom and Dad very boring in comparison!

Having Fun on Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day with my brother Jim and his family (Julie, Nic, Devin and Ian). In addition we got a special visit from my brother Brian. I'm including a few videos from our fun day at the beach!

Some recent photos of Cole

Things are back in full swing for us at the Hobson house. I can't believe it is already mid June. Where did this year go!?! And tomorrow Cole turns 11 months. Crazy! He continues to be a complete joy. Although he has been a little tough on his mom the last few days. As dad has been working she has been taking the full brunt of Hurricane Cole. Needless to say he has a lot of energy lately.

He is up to three words now. Mama, dada and Up. He has also figured a number of things out around the house. I love watching him figure out how things work, but am also scared at how quickly he picks things up. He has figured out how to turn on the floor lamps in the living room with the floor switch. He has figured out how to open pocket doors and slides them open. This makes morning showers all that much more interesting. He has almost mastered the safety gates, so we now use an extra strap to lock them. All in all he is quickly moving through the house teaching us what we need to secure next.

Jim and Julie arrive this weekend, so we are excited to see everyone. The weather is suppose to improve a bit so hopefully we can have some good beach time. (California goes through a period called June gloom where it is cloudy for much of the day.)

Below are some recent photos.

Cole and Mary

Cole has recently learned how to make motor boat sounds.  We often hear him in his crib making these sounds when he should be sleeping.  It's pretty cute.

We are back in Cali!

After a fantastic trip to Connecticut and New York, we are back in California. Cole is adjusting well to the time change. He was such a trooper and a great kid on the whole trip. Had some struggles with nighttime sleep, but overall he did great.

The flights home were pretty good. Bill and Nancy were on our first flight from Hartford to Detroit. It was nice to see them even though the flight was at the crazy hour of 6AM! (If you do the math that means it was 3AM in CA....long day.) The second flight was going great until about midway. Cole was sound asleep and suddenly woke during some turbulence and proceeded to vomit all over Mary and himself. Luckily it did not get all over the seats....or more importantly over dad. :) Mary rushed to the bathroom with Cole to get cleaned. Fortunately we happened to have some of our clothes with us in our carry on. Once changed Cole was in a fantastic mood the rest of the flight.

Upon returning home we were all exhausted but Cole rallied when he saw his toys. He was a wild man playing with everything in sight. He also has a new trick. We were sitting on the floor and looked over and Cole was standing by himself in the middle of the floor. Great! We also think he grew on the trip as his reach is much greater than it was before. Thus we have cleared everything on the main floor that is within his reach.

Below are some pictures from his baptism.

More updates soon.
