Weekend Fun

We have had some unseasonable warm weather recently so we have been making the most of it by spending as much time as possible outside.  On Saturday morning we went to Santa Monica so Mary could get her hair cut.  One of favorite activities is to hang out on the 3rd St. Promenade.  There are a number of street musicians and a farmer's market every Saturday morning.  Cole loves to just sit and listen to the music and watch the people.  They also have these great dinosaur statues.

After our trip to Santa Monica we met up with our friends Vivek (Dr. Mo) and Christy for some time at the beach.  Cole loves to explore and after the recent storms there are huge, new areas of tide pools.  We were able to catch the sunset at the beach as well.

Videos from the past few weeks.

This year Cole really enjoyed the snow as compared to last year when he was a little skeptical.  He thought sledding was a lot of fun.  While there wasn't snow in Denver or in the foothills near Evergreen, we were able to drive a short distance to find some great snow.  (Isn't that the way it should be?  Drive to the snow rather than living in it?)  Here is Cole going solo on the sled.

Cole has found his singing voice and his favorite tunes are Jingle Bells and the theme song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  He will just burst out in song at random times.  Often times he also wants to play along with his singing by hitting a drum.  (There is a drummer in there...I can tell it!)  He especially likes to sing from his bed.  So at random times when we think he is asleep we will here this little voice belting out a tune.  Our favorite is when he combines the two songs.   We haven't been able to capture great video of him singing, but here is a glimpse.
