I am almost 1yr old!!!

Only a few days left before Cole turns one. How crazy is that!?!?! Mary and I have been spending the week thinking about the last year and about the week leading up to his birth. Great memories.

Cole is in great spirits lately. We have been having a bit of a heat wave, so he isn't loving that aspect. Gets a little cranky when he tries to take a nap and his room is so hot. Hopefully the weather will break soon.

He is also very excited to see Grandma Hobson this week. She arrives on Thursday and we hope she is ready for our ball of energy. He is quite active crawling all over the house and walking with the assistance of toys. He is much more comfortable getting up and standing on his own. Just a matter of time.

He has two other new tricks. One is throwing all of his toys out of his crib. I walked in the other day to get him from his nap and he had one of the monkey toys held out over the edge of the crib dangling. Looked like one of those scenes from the movies where they dangle the person over the side of the building. His other trick is grinding his teeth which is horrible. Almost as bad as fingernails on a chalkboard. He thinks it is fun to do, but it drives us crazy. He might be doing it on purpose because we give him the binky to make him stop, which makes him very happy.

Below are some recent photos. We will have more after his birthday this weekend.

Eating ice cream at Dairy Queen. This picture does not even to begin to show his pure joy of eating ice cream.

This was taken at our friends sons birthday party. Jake turned three recently. The bounce house was on a bit of a slope and had some issues.

Cole looking tough in his sleeveless surfer gear from Aunt Heather. He fits in well in California.

Actually holding his drink cup. Rarely does he actually hold it himself. He feels mom or dad should hold it for him. We are tempted to get those little drink bottles that attach to a fence like you see for pets.

Times fly when you're getting up every morning to deal with a crying baby. Or pooping baby. I hope he doesn't become a mooner like me but it's in the family.
